"I believe all children can learn. It is OUR job to adapt our approach to teach the way they learn best."
My Philosophy
I always try to meet students where they are and celebrate each individual while creating a safe and nurturing learning environment. I truly believe that all children can learn and we need to adapt our approach in order to teach in a way that they learn best. This can be done through experiential, project based learning and an understanding that academic rigor comes in all forms of creative and challenging assignments. Hours of homework does not mean hours of learning. While students are in the classroom, this is an opportunity to connect, challenge them to think, teach them to listen to others and find ways to communicate effectively and respectfully. My goal has always been for students to become independent thinkers and learners who know how to set goals and advocate for themselves and others. By working collaboratively with other teachers and members of the team, we are able to better support students while they engage with the material and develop a deeper understanding of purpose. It has always been my belief that we need to address the whole child and support them emotionally as well as academically.
